Dynamics AX Programmer/Analyst
Position overview:
The Dynamics AX Programmer/Analyst is a member of the IT Applications Engineering Team and reports to the Applications Engineering Manager. Working in a dynamic, collaborative team environment, the AX Programmer Analyst will be responsible for operating, optimizing & supporting our Microsoft Dynamics AX environment. The AX Programmer Analyst will be involved in all stages of development including but not limited to: Perform research and fact-finding to develop or modify the Dynamics AX environment; Prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written; Develop, test, debug, document and maintain those programs.
JOB / DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES (Listed in order of importance)
- Primary focus will be on customizing, modifying and configuring Microsoft Dynamics AX to appropriately represent business processes and specific needs of business units
- Develop and modify Dynamics AX reports
- Assess business requirements, design and code AX customizations to meet the requirements in the most efficient manner
- Participate in creating requirements documentation, detailed design specifications, and test scripts
- Proactively review existing business processes to identify new ways to automate and provide time and cost-saving efficiencies
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge / Education
- Deep understanding of Microsoft Dynamics AX
- Expert knowledge of features, configuration and support of AX
- Experience with installation/configuration base components of AX: user groups, security, connections to databases, etc.
- Thorough understanding of Microsoft Dynamics AX functionality (order management, procurement, inventory management, fulfillment, manufacturing, financials)
- Solid understanding of the AX technology stack & development methodology
- Comprehensive knowledge of related technologies: Microsoft SQL Server database, Exchange, .NET, SharePoint Services, BizTalk Server
- Thorough knowledge of planning and implementation of AX system tests to ensure that functionality, configuration and data are as expected
- AX Certification is highly desired
- Solid understanding of core SDLC principles with an emphasis on end-to-end testing and managed deployments
- Working technical knowledge of SQL, HTML and .net programming languages
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
Job Experience
- 4+ years of experience working with Dynamics AX 4.0 - specifically with MorphX, X++ hands-on coding, AOT, and AX table structures
- At least 3 years experience developing in an enterprise environment
- Previous experience implementing and managing Microsoft Dynamics AX projects
- Must have hands-on experience with coding AIF processes and services
- Experience with the Manufacturing, Accounting, and Payroll modules in MS Dynamics AX 4.0
- Experience in the Analysis, Design, and Coding of reports within MS Dynamics AX 4.0
- Experience in modeling business processes
- Able to work as part of a development team working with business groups to ensure development is in line with business goals.

- Ability to set up applications for gap/fit analysis
- Ability to configure the production AX environment
- General knowledge of how to conduct gap/fit analysis
- Comprehensive understanding of project management
- Excellent oral and written communication skills using the English language
- Good documentation skills, particularly in producing design specs and test scripts
- Healthcare Med Device industry experience a huge plus
- Must have a well-developed habit of commenting your code and writing documentation
