Senior Accountant

 

Position overview:

Responsible for the preparation, and analysis of financial statements and supporting schedules in compliance with GAAP. Work closely with the financial management team in a fast-growing public company to secure the quality and integrity of financial reports.  

 

JOB / DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure financial reports are prepared and presented in a timely and accurate manner and in compliance with US GAAP and company policies

  • Prepare budget to actual variance analysis by department and functional area for senior management

  • Coordinate and assist in the monthly close process with the Accounting Manager

  • Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations

  • Contribute to identifying and implementing accounting policies and procedures while driving business process improvement

  • Provide support for 10Q/10K SEC filing requirements

  • Reconcile and analyze monthly revenue by product line. Manage the company's compliance with its revenue policy and authoritative literature

  • Analyze customer trends and payment patterns for monitoring accounts receivable. Assist with bad debt reserve calculation and analysis

  • Act as a liaison between the Accounting Department and other department in the Corporation to convey policies and procedures and maintain open lines of communication

  • Assist with the preparation and reporting for Corporate income taxes and sales and use taxes

  • Assist with quarterly reviews and annual audits with external auditors

  • Lead efforts in documenting and testing of internal control policies and procedures for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge / Education

  • Bachelors Degree in Accountancy or Finance
  • MBA with a concentration in Finance or Accounting or CPA is a plus

Job Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years experience preparing, analyzing, and reporting consolidated financial statements
  • Exposure to public companies is preferred
