Vice President of Sales

 

Position overview:

This position is based in Bedford Massachusetts and reports to the CCO. Primary responsibility for leading the U.S. Sales & Clinical Service teams to achievement of Insulet Corporations annual performance objectives.  

 

JOB / DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

The Vice President of Sales is accountable for consistently over-achieving U.S. sales and training objectives while ensuring these results are obtained within budget targets and defined business practices. This position is also responsible for aligning communication and tactical efforts between the U.S. Field organization and other Insulet operating functions. Will have direct management responsibility for all Field Sales, Clinical Service, Inside Sales and Training headcount

  • Lead development of annual sales forecast and recommended budget requirements. Continually analyze performance vs plans, indentify and address performance gaps needed to meet objectives. Prepare and present updates and progress vs plan as required.

  • Develop and maintain annual sales incentive plan. Ensure incentive compensation is aligned with annual and quarterly sales and expense budgets and optimally provides compensation for performance against business objectives.

  • Collaboratively engage marketing, managed care, and fulfillment organization to define plan objectives and support needs. Engage teams as necessary to assist in the development of tools and programs necessary to deliver on objectives.

  • Build organization capabilities through implementation of training and coaching initiatives to enhance team knowledge and skills. Acquire key talent as opportunities arise.

  • Ensure team compliance with all HIPAA, FDA and industry guidelines.

  • Implement systems and business processes needed to keep organization aligned to key objectives and executing efficiently.

  • Develop and maintain superior relationships with key diabetes opinion leaders and business partners across the United States.

  • Complete all administrative duties in a timely fashion and within the specified budgets

  • Represent the US sales organization as a senior member of Insulet's Commercial team.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge / Education

  • Proven leadership, communication and mentoring skill set
  • Strong computer skills with intimate knowledge of sales management systems and their application
  • Diabetes and/or Insulin delivery clinical knowledge preferable
  • BS/BA or equivalent

Job Experience

  • Minimum of 15 years Medical industry sales experience
  • Minimum 10 years direct management experience of people performing sales/customer support roles
  • Proven history of successful leadership managing large teams.
  • Prior Product Management or equivalent experience preferred

Strategic thinker that can analyze market data and performance trends to identify and implement initiatives to improve organizational performance. Tactical manager that can drive superior execution on key initiatives while effectively balancing multiple priorities in a fast moving environment. Demonstrated ability to engage healthcare professionals and discuss appropriate clinical applications of complex medical technologies.

Travel Requirements

Frequent business travel (up to 50% weekly travel)
