Position overview:    The Senior Product/Brand Manager (SPM) will play an important role in the development and execution of the annual marketing plan with a focus on achieving the brand’s short-term business objectives. 


JOB / DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES (Listed in order of importance)

  • Participate in the preparation and execution of the annual marketing plan for a diverse customer base including physicians, nurses, third party payors and consumers living with diabetes. This work will include but not be limited to:
    • Product positioning
    • Brand advertising message and communication strategy
    • Annual advertising calendar
    • Promotional materials (sales aids, customer training materials, customer trial programs, general information) for use by the sales force to gain new customers. Assist with sales force training on use of materials.
    • Selection, development and implementation of promotional programs for trade shows as required (ADA, AADE, AACE, etc.)
    • Brand public relations
    • Product packaging and associated labeling (including but not limited to User Guide, Product Labels, illustrations, education and marketing literature)
    • Customer relationship management programs
    • Product development efforts
  • Conduct primary and secondary market research as necessary to understand market dynamics, develop marketing strategies and determine priorities
  • Conduct Payback Analysis on marketing programs to understand the success and return on investment of various marketing programs
  • Provide product feedback to Operations, R&D, and Engineering as appropriate
  • Develop relationships with diabetes educators, endocrinologists, and industry professionals worldwide. Support interaction with members of our SAB and EAB.
 

Requirements
 
Knowledge / Education
  • Bachelor Degree required, MBA preferred
  • Diabetes and healthcare/lifesciences marketing experience strongly preferred
  • Basic knowledge of reimbursement within 3rd Party Payors, Medicare and Medicaid
  • Must have demonstrated ability to understand medical/clinical and technical aspects of product.
  • Strong Vendor Management Experience Required
Job Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ work experience in Product Management, Marketing Analyst or Market Research
  • Ideal candidate would also have basic sales experience within the health care environment (physician office, pharmacy, managed care, hospital, laboratory).

  • Excellent product and project management skills
  • Ability to understand and communicate product knowledge
  • Excellent leadership skills; team player capable of working with and influencing cross-functional project teams
  • Experience managing creative project teams including designers, writers, ad agencies, printers, etc
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • PC skill, word processing, spreadsheet, database
  • Ability to multi-task, organize and judge priorities
  • Ability to generate and maintain accurate records
Physical Requirements Requirements
  • Some business travel is required. Must be able to perform job functions effectively while traveling.
