Position overview:

This is an electrical engineering position to assist R&D engineers in design and development of low power battery operated medical devices. This person should have a good understanding of both analog and digital circuit design, and able to manage multiple tasks concurrently. This position requires close cooperation with other members of R&D engineering group on multiple projects. It also requires interaction with contract manufacturers and vendors, manufacturing, software, mechanical, and quality groups.

 
 
JOB / DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES (Listed in order of importance)
  • Assist in design and development of low power battery operating device used to administrate insulin to diabetes patients.
  • Assistance in sustaining the current products in manufacturing.
  • Able to conduct qualification and verification test at component and system level.
  • Participate in design and development of test fixtures used on electrical sub-assemblies.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to review design, manufacturing, or quality related issues.
  • Able to use computer-assisted engineering and design software such as OrCAD to generate design document.
  • Apply principles and techniques of electrical engineering to analyze failures to improve design or manufacturing processes.
  • Working knowledge of design documentation and able to generating “engineering change order”.

    Requirements
    Knowledge / Education
    • Bachelor in electrical engineering.
    • Demonstrated working knowledge of electrical engineering (both analog and digital).
    • Demonstrated working knowledge of Computer Aided Design.
    • Demonstrated working knowledge of tools and instruments utilized in electrical engineering field.

    Job Experience

    • Minimum of 2 years experience in electrical engineering related fields (medical device field is preferred).

    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to communicate at multiple levels of an organization.
    • Ability to organize and judge priorities.
    • Ability to manage projects.
    • Knowledge of analog and digital circuit.
    • Knowledge of low power battery operating embedded system.
    • Knowledge of PCB layout design rules.
    • Familiarity with the RF design is a plus.
    • Ability to use laboratory equipment for electronics measurement.
    • Knowledge of electrical safety, and EMI/EMC standards for medical devices.
    • Knowledge of FDA design control guidelines.
