Diabetes organizations
- The American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) was founded in 1991 by a visionary group of leaders to serve as the active voice for clinical endocrinologists. Today, AACE has over 6,000 members in the United States and 91 foreign countries.

Founded in 1973, the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) was created by and for diabetes educators. As a multidisciplinary professional association, AADE represents and supports the diabetes educator by providing members the resources to stay abreast of the current research, methods and trends in the field and by offering opportunities to network and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
- The American Diabetes Association (ADA) is leading the fight against the deadly consequences of diabetes and fighting for those affected by diabetes. The Association funds research to prevent, cure and manage diabetes; delivers services to hundreds of communities; provides objective and credible information; and gives voice to those denied their rights because of diabetes.
- The European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) was founded in Montecatini, Italy in 1965 with Dr. Joseph Hoet as Founding President. The aims of the Association are to encourage and support research in the field of diabetes, the rapid diffusion of acquired knowledge and to facilitate its application.
- The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) is an umbrella organization of over 200 national diabetes associations in over 160 countries. The Federation has been leading the global diabetes community since 1950. IDF’s mission is to promote diabetes care, prevention and a cure worldwide.
- Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is the leader in research leading to a cure for type 1 diabetes in the world. It sets the global agenda for diabetes research, and is the largest charitable funder and advocate of diabetes science worldwide. Since its founding in 1970 by parents of children with type 1 diabetes, JDRF has awarded more than $1.3 billion to diabetes research.
- National Diabetes Information Clearinghouse (NDIC) is an information dissemination service of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK). The NIDDK is part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), which is part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

- The mission of Children with Diabetes, Inc. is to promote understanding of the care and treatment of diabetes, especially in children; to increase awareness of the need for unrestricted diabetes care for children at school and daycare; to support families living with diabetes; and to promote understanding of research into a cure.
- Founded in 2005, Diabetes Daily is a support network for people affected by diabetes. Their mission is to share support, educate, and advocate.
- Insulin Pumpers® provides information and support for adults and children with diabetes and their families interested in insulin pump therapy. There is a special section devoted to children with diabetes and the stories about how an insulin pump has changed their lives.
- TuDiabetes.com is a social network for people touched by diabetes. With well over 10,000 members, it fosters a supportive environment where people touched by diabetes can connect with each other, hold informed discussions and share their experiences. As a result, our members find comfort in not feeling alone and together we promote a better understanding of life with diabetes.
