Simplified Insulin Delivery Deserves Simplified Access

The Omnipod® Insulin Management System is covered under most private insurance companies through two channels: 1) your pharmacy benefit, similar to the way you receive your insulin or 2) your durable medical equipment (DME) benefit. Unlike traditional pumps, this allows patients the ability to select an insurance channel that aligns best to their specific needs and/or unique financial situation.

When you submit your health insurance information, we’ll contact your insurance provider(s) to determine your benefits.  We will then contact you to review your benefits before fulfilling your order.  For more information, call at 800-591-3455.

Pharmacy Benefit

The pharmacy channel offers simplified access to the Omnipod® System. To receive the Omnipod® System through your pharmacy benefit, your health care provider will need to submit an electronic prescription (eRx).  This eRx allows you to receive your Pods just like you receive your insulin.

Medical Benefit

To obtain the Omnipod® System through your medical benefit, you will need to provide Insulet your insurance information. Insulet will then contact your insurance provider to determine your coverage. Once we determine this, we will get back to you within two business days.  If you would like to proceed, we will then contact your doctor to complete the additional necessary steps. It’s really that easy.
