What is Pod Therapy?
Omnipod® combines a tubeless, wearable pump (the Pod) with the handheld Personal Diabetes Manager (PDM) that enables users to easily set and adjust their basal and bolus insulin delivery. Whether your patient is newly diagnosed with diabetes, currently receives daily insulin injections, or is considering a switch from another insulin pump, an Omnipod® System may be the right insulin management option.
The Pod is a compact, waterproof* device that can be worn virtually anywhere that insulin would be injected. Its durable exterior shell houses a built-in 200-unit insulin reservoir, angled infusion set, power supply, and delivery mechanism. Unlike traditional insulin pumps with tubing, the Pod can be worn discreetly under clothing with insulin delivery control managed separately on the Personal Diabetes Manager.
No multiple daily injections, no pens.
One small Pod provides up to three days (72 hours) of continuous insulin delivery. And it could be the perfect alternative for your MDI patients.
