Stephen Sellner has had type 1 diabetes for as long as he can remember.

In actuality, Stephen was diagnosed with T1D in 1999 at the age of 7. After overcoming the initial shyness — being a first grader who has to take shots when he eats ain’t easy! — he learned to embrace his condition as part of who he is. After all, he doesn’t remember life before his diagnosis.

Stephen has used Omnipod® since 2018. Initially starting with multiple daily insulin injections, he switched to the pump at the age of 13. He also uses the Dexcom G6 continuous glucose monitor.

His go-to low blood sugar remedy? A Capri Sun juice box and pack of peanut butter crackers.

A former sports writer, Stephen’s work has been published in prominent publications such as ESPN, Boston Globe, and NCAA.com. He also works in marketing as a Brand Content Strategist.

Stephen lives in the Greater Boston area with his fiancé, Molly, and puppy, Goose.
